1. Where is Wild Vows Based?

Wild Vows is based in Canterbury, New Zealand—home to some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world. From alpine peaks to wild back country hideaways, this region is our backyard, and we know it inside-out.

2. How long is the helicopter flight?

Flight times start around 20 minutes and can be longer depending on your package.

3. What if the weather doesn’t cooperate?

Safety is our top priority. We work with you beforehand to create an alternative plan well before weather becomes a problem.

4. How long do we get to land and soak it all in?

As long as you need — we don’t limit your shut down time.

However if Chris, the Pilot, says we have to go due to light or weather conditions - then we go!

5. Can we bring guests?

Yes! We can fly guests for you as well. Additional trips can accommodate up to 5 extra people per flight. please inquire.

6. Will there be snow?

Snow depends on the time of year and location in Canterbury, New Zealand.

We’ll help you plan accordingly.

7. What do we need to bring?

We provide a detailed planning guide to help you prepare, but comfortable outdoor footwear and your marriage license are essentials.

8. Will our NZ marriage license be recognized around the world?

Most countries recognize legally valid marriages performed in New Zealand/

9. How is an elopement different from a traditional wedding?

An elopement is all about keeping things intimate, intentional, and free from pressure. Instead of a big guest list, strict timelines, and traditions that don’t resonate with you, an elopement focuses on what really matters—your connection.

10. Do you only do helicopter elopements?

All of our Elopements include a Helicopter - But if you are feeling uneasy about flying please let us know, we can chat to you about your options.

11. WHAT IS REQUIRED TO SECURE A BOOKING?

To secure your date, we require a 25% non-refundable booking fee along with a signed agreement—and then the adventure begins!

Please note: For our multi-day Flockhill packages, a 50% deposit is required to confirm your stay, due to their exclusive nature and partner requirements.

12. Do you have a cancellation policy?

Yes, we do have a cancellation policy. The details vary depending on the type of elopement you choose, as we align our policy with those of our partner vendors. We’ll always outline this clearly before you book, so you know exactly what to expect.
